An amazing demonstration of EE’s potential at Ellislab.com (ExpressionEngine’s parent site) shows running four separate domains off of one installation of expression engine, sharing the same member list, database and using one control panel. This is one example of EE’s amazing potential. (Here at BKDesign we have done similar using the web server and mapping other domains to one install, and managing them through one CMS, but this advances that.)

This approach will allow a member of one of our sites to take advantage of products and services at another site in the network without having to sign up again.  Once you are a member of one site, you’re a member at all sites.  And thanks to Paul’s brilliance we can even run separate, discreet discussion forums at each site, even though it’s really only one forum module in one EE installation.  Heck, we can run separate shopping carts or nearly anything else at each site from one master EE install.

I am finding the most difficult part of using EE as a developer to be documenting all the features. We are in the process of adding more demos and tutorials as time allows as there is a lot that we don’t have up yet. It really does have unlimited potential.
